Was in my dealer today and they have taken orders for eight !!. Delivery due next April. He said if you don't order now you won't get one till end of next year. Must admit - my hand was reaching for my wallet - but I am going to check it out at the NEC bike show next month.

Also - bikes on the way out - R3, Speedy, Bon America, Sprint, daytona675 and the Trophy !!

New to come - 1200 scrambler and a new street triple.

Storm is staying

Hope he's wrong. I've been sorta counting on a 1200 speedmaster to replace the Tbird as my final bike. I wonder what they will have in the Tbird line. I can't imagine they'd only keep the storm. I can see the commander and LT being canned since they supposedly didn't sell at all. But just the storm? I would think they;d at least offer a 1700 version of the standard bird. Why would they limit possible Tbird sales to a single option when they don;t even have to tool up to offer a regular version?

Just got to see the new Bobber, Street Cup and Scrambler in person at a launch event here in the Madison, WI area. I have to say the Street Cup and Scrambler were amazing in person. Also, the Bobber looked much better in person than it does in photos. Of course I still look like a circus bear on one since I'm 6' 3" but I really like it a lot more in person than I thought I would. Not a very practical bike but it sure looks like it would be a blast for an around town bike. I could definitely see getting a Street Cup to supplement the Storm. Now to convince the wife......

Once you get away with the second bike, it becomes the new standard.
Then you have to start planning the third!

So you wouldn't look like a circus bear on the Cup?

Well according to my wife I'd be lucky to look as good as a circus bear in general. I'll post the photo my buddy took of me sitting on the Bobber later just so you can enjoy a laugh. For some reason the geometry of the other bikes in the Bonneville line don't make me look like I'm sitting on a kids bike.

Full Circus Bear mode engaged. I look like I'm sitting on one of those old Honda Trail bikes.

We're you there? It was a great time. Team Triumph is an awesome dealer. I keep hoping they'll open a dealership in Madison but I don't think there's enough volume to support both locations. Too bad though, it would be great to have them here in town. I don't mind the ride to Janesville but it would be a lot more convenient to have them closer. Not to mention that Wisconsin Brewing had very good beer on Thursday night. Definitely a fun night.

I was there. In fact was just outside of that picture, standing on the other side of the thruxton R.
I recall thinking 'why does that motorcycle look so small' !

I agree they are a excellent dealer. I have brought a number of bikes from them over the years.
It is about a hour ride to their shop for me. Pretty good selection of back roads for getting there,
So I don't mind much

Be good for vertically challenged bods like me then.

Might look like a big bike with one of us shorties on it.

I like it from the pictures but want to see it in the metal before making my mind up.

I cant wait to see one in the flesh, but as far as I know they havent arrived in Oz yet. but I will be taking one for a gallop, for sure.
Azcactus, i tried to watch the video link you put up, but I just couldnt put myself through the pain of watching some fatfuck putting shit on a bike that he hasnt even seen, never mind ridden.
Bloody keyboard commentators. Most of them wouldnt know their arse from their elbows
The same 'experts' put shit on the Hinckley triples when they first appeared in the 90's, now they all want one. they badmouthed the Rocket 3 when it appeared, coz it didnt "look like a motorbike", they laughed at the Triumph 4 cylinder (and rightly so), now they are collectable. The early Tigers were dodgy as all fuck (just my opinion) but the Tiger now is leader in its class.
I am calling it now, the new bobber will be a success for trumpet. Maybe attract the younger generations to the joys of the parallel twin that most of us Trumpet crowd love.

That video is spot on, related to the Bobber commercial....pretty "gay", if you ask me.

My boss just went to an "unveiling" event just north of New York City last week. 2 hour drive down, for a 5pm event start. But they didn't unveil any of the 3 bikes until 8pm. The showed off the new Street Cup, a new Scrambler, and then the Bobber.

After a bit of hoopla, etc., he finally got to sit on one. He's a bit short on the "in seam" front, so the Bobber fit him well. It's light, low, and he really dug it. So much that he put a deposit on a red one, and expects it to hit New York some time in Feb/Mar'17.

He definitely said he could not see anyone over 6ft being comfortable on it!

Sorry, but it's a sad sad effort in my humble.
When I test rode one I asked the dealer when the adult sized model would be available.
Given that I've had 4 Bonneville America's this one seemed like a child's toy.
Each to their own, I know , but it just seemed a cruel joke...to have waited so long for it and then find itd shrunk in the wash.

True, but there's a place for a light cruiser style bike for those getting too old or ill to man-handle Thunderbirds about. The reality is they should continue the Thunderbird, they kept the Tiger Sport - a very old model at least three generations behind the rest of the range because there's a loyal band of regular purchasers. Why can't they keep a basic Thunderbird model going? It's still the best cruiser out there dynamically, it doesn't need any updates.

I think what would've happened if Triumph offered a Thunderbird Bobber in 2009 (as an option). A boom or bust??

I agree. They kept the basic RIII Roadster for bragging rights as the largest displacement bike produced. Why couldn't they keep a basic T Bird for bragging rights as the largest parallel twin?
